Real World Winers started in late 2005 as a group of friends who got together every week to drink, socialize, and rate wines. The original site ran for a few years and went quiet — now we're tasting again. The early reviews, audio, and bottle photos are preserved alongside everything new the group records from here on out.

The rating system was always intentionally blunt:

• Drink & Buy — would drink it again and would buy a bottle.
• Drink — would drink it, but wouldn't pay for it.
• Pass — wouldn't drink it again.
• Toilet — the comedic worst-of-the-worst.
